Emotions certainly have to be rationalized. Sometimes emotions can blind you from reality. Preconceived ideas can lead you to make up feelings on things you know little about. Still, feelings are important. If I didn't feel like I could make anything change in my life, things would still be the same. I choose to feel unsatisfied. In the end, happiness is a choice.

I agree with what you guys have said. And feel that it's good to experience all different types of emotions: happiness, anger, sadness, etc. Because they help a person understand life more. When you're happy you realize the things that bring joy to your life, when you're angry you understand what makes you upset, and when you're sad you realize what things you really appreciate and how emotions can change when certain aspects of life don't go your way. My favorite emotion is happiness, of course, and what better way to experience happiness then through laughter. Ok I hope I don't get in trouble for this one...HeHe. Laughter pic below!

This wiki page on emotions gives the 3 components necessary for having a fitting emotion according to Nozick. I found this youtube click on Dublin's Gay Pride speech that I think has a good connection to Nozick's cirteria. The clip can be watched here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=MOf--2pe_5M . The speaker provides an interesting insight into the gay community touching on rights, fairness, and hope. Throughout the speech, he clearly has an emotion of pride for his sexual orientation.
