I agree that it is easy to find poverty right in front of us. Anywhere you go in they city you will see numerous homeless people on the streets. I nanny, and often times when im at the play ground in Golden Gate park there are three children with their mother and they carry around all of their stuff and live out of a car. I also agree that it is soo sad that on the other side of town some of the wealthiest people live. There is so much we can do to help and so few people take the time.

This video talks about poverty around the world however, we do not need to go far to see poverty. Everywhere in this city are examples who those who are not as fortunate as we are. San Francisco has one of the most highest homeless popluatons of any nations. Yet, on the other side of town reside some of the most well of people in the world. The city lines thus puts life into perspective and helps us realize that their is much to do, even if to just go out and donate things that can help or to help create policy change that can help people in need.
The song by John Mayer....Waiting for the world to change...reflects the need for you us to go out into the world and create change. |

As the other three philosophers below have stated, I strongly feel that it is very easy to find poverty right in front of our eyes. Non Americans typically see us as wealthy, or at least well off, however, they are sadly mistaken. In any major city in America, you can find poverty thriving in bad parts..even in good parts as well. Instead of putting our main concerns on helping foreign countries first, we should try to help reduce our own amount of poverty before we look any further.
