The VT Massacre that occured in April of 2007 was a tragic scenario that involved many innocent victims. The victims were unable to talk sensibly into the shooter as he was so full of rage and anger that he seemingly had to do what he set out to do. The shooter is one of a handful of teenagers/young adults that have done evil to peers in a school setting in the past decade, the first one seemingly being the tragedy at Columbine in April of the late 90's. I think that there is an object of desire that this man and others like him wanted, maybe money, love, friends, good grades...who knows? There certainly are warning signs that the shooter presents in exercising his freedom as an individual. Rather than ocurring and forgetting things naturally, a grudge was held and instead of confronting potential enemies, shooters took on an extremist and hedonistic point of view that all his peers ought to suffer. It strikes me that while people suffer, they take on dualistic personalities as to justify actions. Addicts do it when their conscience is subsided by the craving they have and are thus "justified" in robbing, stealing or whatever to get what they need. Cho might have felt that his case was similar in that he could not subpoena the voice in his head to go kill his peers. To what cause or purpose this serves as we will never know, but it is really unfortunate that while some suffer in solidarity, they can't realize that they are like any other human as we all suffer and choose to not do such tragic things.

The Virgina Tech made me feel sad how so many innocent people die just because of a person's emotions. Cho has a lot of emotions rushing through him which cause him to act that way. Something must of have tick him off to cause his actions. This event shows that people in our country have no confidents in themselves. That is how Cho felt, no one can understand him and he may feel different than others which make him build up those emotions. But still he could of gotten help and the people that see that he has this problem they should of help him get help. Then he wouldn't of killed so many innocent people. People should no be scared of what might happen to them in the future.

This event shows a lot about our country. The perpetrator Seung-Hui Cho, is a South Korean who immigrated to the United States. Was he not welcomed? Was he not loved? Are United States citizens cruel enough to prompt this man to do such a terrible thing? No, I don't think so but I think some people could say it reflects us as arrogant Americans. Virginia Tech massacre was not just a trajedy in Virginia it was a national trajedy where 32 innocent people were mass murdered. It united our country together, and showed that through our differences and the miles between us we are the United States and we stick together with love and support.
The massacre makes me sick to my stomach. Things like this should not happen. But we live in a fallen and sinful world and I am sad to say that a trajedy like this does not completely surprise me. We can make it different by doing different things. Should all people have the right of buying and possesing guns? I feel like logically, in a world where Columbines and V.Tech massacres happens, police officers and hunters should be the only people that have guns. We can do something about gun control and we should. Love. We need to begin loving people and expressing love for one another. It sounds "tree huggerish" and "hippyish" but we were created to love people. We were created with the need to be loved. If we raise our awareness of those who are shunned and ignored and love on them just a little bit, things like this may be able to be avoided. |
