Issues of the Day
Sep 29 2008, 9:52 PM EDT
As the other three philosophers below have stated, I strongly feel that it is very easy to find poverty right in front of our eyes. Non Americans typically see us as wealthy, or at least well off, however, they are sadly mistaken. In any major city in America, you can find poverty thriving in bad parts..even in good parts as well. Instead of putting our main concerns on helping foreign countries first, we should try to help reduce our own amount of poverty before we look any further. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7obi7YYVXQs Do you find this valuable? |

As long as well continue to see certain groups of people different from ourselves, we as a people will throw away people we don't undestand. I have seen poverty in other countries and the US's idea of poverty is completely different from the poverty I saw in other countries.
